About the role

This isn’t just about managing homes – it’s about people, places, and creating thriving communities. You’ll be building meaningful and purposeful relationships with customers within our Neighbourhoods, making a real difference on the ground.

As a Neighbourhood Housing Manager, we want you to get to know our customers, so that if we do need to have some difficult conversations it’s easier to have them with someone they know and trust.  We are a housing provider who targets zero evictions and you will have a key role to play in delivering this commitment. You will be connected to our customers, you’ll know at an early stage if things are going wrong and you can call upon support of our community development and housing support services to assist our customers to continue to live safely in their homes.

You will play a key role in supporting customers and communities by managing tenancies, lettings, improving estates and community safety across an area patch. This is a people first role, not a desk‑based one. You’ll be visible in your communities in, building relationships and trust, working with customers, colleagues and partners to sustain tenancies, ensure homes are safe and ready to let, and intervene early to support customers at risk—helping people sustain their homes and thrive. With regular estate visits, you’ll tackle safety issues, safeguarding concerns, and anti‑social behaviour.

Skills and Experience Needed

You’ll bring solid experience in tenancy and estate management, working collaboratively to deliver flexible, customer‑focused services. You’ll be confident building strong relationships with external agencies and elected representatives and committed to putting customers first. You will have a strong knowledge of housing legislation, including the Renting Homes (Wales) Act 2016

Experience of managing anti-social behaviour and safeguarding cases, the ability to manage competing priorities and make sound, proportionate decisions as well as being confident in the use of digital systems and accurate record keeping

A relevant professional qualification or equivalent experience is essential, along with a full driving licence and access to a vehicle to engage with the communities this role covers. We are happy to discuss reasonable adjustments where appropriate. You’ll also have a proven track record of delivering great service and contributing to continuous improvement.
